LOUD LOVE at The Sydney in Benson this Saturday

It’s almost here!  One of the most hated/loved/dreaded holidays out there.  LOUD LOVE is here to change that though, and bring the best out of this Hallmark Holiday.  Whether you’re single, dating, married, or swinging every which way this event is about forgetting about your love live and the drama surrounding Omaha to have a amazing night!

To aid you in your nights festivities we got a whole bunch of great stuff lined up!  LOUD founder Masaris will be spinning alongside Gunk founder KobraKyle spinning the best dance music around!  Plus, we’ve built a giant heart shaped photobooth that’ll be manned by veteran party photographer PhotoNele!  We’ll also have plenty of dance party accessories to keep things interesting.

Come early to get into this party, the Sydney is the perfect size for an intimate dance party and this WILL get to capacity.  For those of you that don’t know where the Sydney is it’s right off the Benson strip on 59th and Maple.  This venue is the new home for LOUD, and we’re all excited to begin this new venture here.  Hope to see everyone there!

!!!NYE 2011!!!

This year’s NYE is promising to be a great one!  Omaha has a ton of great events lined up this year so be sure to plan ahead.  Long lines, cover charges and parking are all gonna suck…. but damn it’s gonna be a crazy night!

Myself and Terrance Pree will be playing the 3rd floor of Blue Sushi downtown, right above Sake Bombers.  Last year this event was NUTS!!!  Seriously.  It was the first year we thew this event there and it exceeded everyone’s expectations I think.  Great guy/girl ratio, bangin’ sound system, and good vibes all around.  $10 cover starting at 9pm, be there early because a huge line had already formed going outside the building by 11pm last year.  Got some great tunes lined up as well with a few for your listening pleasure below.

Top 15 Guilty Pleasures of 2010

When I decided to make this list of guilty pleasures I originally planned on only choosing 5 songs… But, apparently I have a lot of tracks I feel guilty about so I bumped the number up to 15.  Five of the tracks are are definitely poppy/top 40 sounding, and would probably be a hit at a gay club which makes these the the guiltiest of the guilty.

My favorite of that group would have to be the Jackson remix of Treasure Fingers – Get Up.  The fact that Ashley Jones of Treasure Fingers has a manly beard helps me feel better about myself when I’m dancing to the track in nothing but my American Apparel undies by myself.

The other 10 tracks have a more indie pop vibe with lots of female vocals and lyrics regarding love and drama.  Some of them might fit well on a Lifetime movie.  Others are what I cry to when I run out of hair spray.  Martin Solvieg’s “Hello” if probably one many of you have already heard but damn it’s catchy!  I had that one on repeat for literally a week straight.  The remix of “Party in My Tummy” from Yo Gabba Gabba is a bit of a wild card, but entertaining nevertheless.  It’s basically the soundtrack to my life.

Top 15 Guilty Pleasures Link!

“Crush” at Tquila Thursday

This venue has a SWEET lighting system, comparable to The Max I would with a good sound system as well.  Located in South Omaha on 30th and L it would be really great to bring more electronica to this area.

Crush is a 18+ weekly Thursday event featuring DJs from the metro area.  This week will be the second one (Dec 9th).

They have some super cheap drink specials including $1 Draws, $5 Pitchers and $3 Cuervo Shots.  Plus no cover if you’re 21, and $3 18+

Plus, a TRIP GIVEAWAY!  I won this last time (I wasn’t playing so it isn’t cheating!)  Anyways it’s free airfare and hotel rooms for 2 nights, 2 people.  You do have to pay some taxes and processing fees, but it still ends up being a great deal!  There’s a variety of places to choose from including Las Vegas, Reno, Orlando, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Cancún, and Puerto Vallarta.  Awesome!  I think I’m gonna choose LA!  Never been there and I really want to go to a In and Out Burger.

Weekend Warriors Unite!

Got a great weekend lined up this upcoming week!  Great events going on FRI/SAT and Sunday even!

Friday catch Edward Skrbl Hndz and myself at the French Underground, its been ages since Edward and I have had a show together so expect great things (and free PB&Js!)

Saturday QC and I have a show at Bar 415 together, once again another DJ that I have not had the pleasure of doing a set with for quite a long time!

ALSO, Saturday and Sunday is the 6th anniversary of HLN productions, Dustin from that camp is bringing in a schlew of great international talent to Lincoln for what will definitely be a great party.  I’ll be heading there Sunday to catch Starkey and the rest.  Should be a treat!

Beastmode Boogie Halloween Bash at Louis Bar

It’s all going down 10/30/10 at 10pm!  Lots of tens!  This event is going to be diabolical.  We’re going to transform this historic, nay not just historic, the OLDEST bar in Omaha into one hell of a dance party!

For the first time ever the massive basement at Louis will be open to the public.  There the Devil’s Disco Den will be led by DJs Brent Crampton and Stephen Bills.  There will be a side bar plus a movie den playing spooky old flicks on a projector.

Upstairs will be the Beastmode Boogie Bungalow led by DJs Masaris, Kethro and Reese Vavrick.  Expect the loudest wickedly loud beats, and the spiderweb of eternal sucking.

Oh, and yes, PRIZES!  Best male and female costume receive a free $50 bar tab and top overall customer get $75 dollars (I recommend buying me a cab ride home!)

BEASTMODE Boogie: Halloween Mix of Destruction by Masaris

The First Annual SoundSplash at Papio Water Park!

First off this is gonna be awesome.  If you come to this and don’t have fun it probably means you should just retire from going out.

From one of the creators of the historic “Soundwaves” boat parties we have the new annual tradition SoundSplash!  Soaking wet house music will be playing from 9-2am on a 25,000 watt sound stage near the water.  The ENTIRE water park will be open including wave pool, lazy river, and water slides plus there will be an open bars…in the water!  Ten bucks gets you in for the music, water, and tube rental.

Music will be provided by some of the best in the area (excuse my narcissism) including Joeseff, Brent Crampton, Miesha and myself!  My set will be from 12:30 till 2am so you know it will be loud and dirty.  Squirt guns might be involved as well.

515 Alive this weekend!

The 8th annual 515 Alive is on track to be the most amazing yet. We are taking the show to a brand new location in Downtown Des Moines. The Simon Estes Amphitheater and adjoining bridges will host the 515’s super-sized block party and music festival. The new location is stunning and will accommodate 7 outdoor stages + a variety of new attractions. We expect over 20,000 in attendance this year. Mark the date…this is not to be missed!!!

It’s this Saturday!  Headliners are Craze, Shock G, and DJ Scene.  I’ll be playing on the Lime State at 7pm!  Tickets are only 10 bucks!!!!

LOUD Returns Friday (7/30/10)

It’s been a while since theres been a LOUD, and there’s a lot to live up to since LOUD vs Gunk.  Continuing on with the “versus” theme LOUD is teaming up with Elite Lounge on 108th a Center to dual it off against BP.  Donations collected at the door will go towards our own Henry Doorly Zoo who is saving wild animals damaged by oil in the Gulf.  Most of these animals would be left to die otherwise, and we need to save whatever wild life we can from this ravaged areas.

Music will be provided by yours truly as well as $pencelove out of Lincoln.  Like with any LOUD expect the music to be bumpin, the drinks flowing, and the dance floor to be packed!  Oh, and as always there will be an after party that usually leads to music being played till dawn, and multiple spaghetti pizza’s being consumed despite the ill will it will bestow on the eater’s bowels the next day.

Don’t forget the booty box will be in full effect, with tons of goodies amazing and awkward to dance with!  I’m thinking squirt guns.  With oil.

Masaris and UDM at Nomad

Nomad resident DJ Masaris and the guest DJs at Nomad Lounge have a history of creating some of the biggest, craziest dance parties around.

And with Ultimate Downhill Machines (UDM) coming in with BOTH Sean and Jarek this is the first time we’ll have both their talents tearing up the dance floor.

Lets just say we have a history.
